When the sun goes down, pollination doesn’t stop. Join the North Salem Open Land Foundation and Pound Ridge Land Conservancy for Pollinators After Dark, an evening program at Weil Preserve that shines a light on the often-overlooked world of moths.
We’ll begin with a short introduction to moths as essential nocturnal pollinators, exploring their life cycles, ecological importance, and the surprising diversity found right here in our region. As darkness falls, we’ll head outside to set up a moth sheet and light station and watch as moths and other nocturnal insects are drawn in. Participants will have the opportunity to observe, learn, and help identify species throughout the evening—no experience necessary.
