Baxter Sentinel Tree Program
In celebration of 50 years of conservation, the Baxter Preserve Sentinel Tree Program was launched with the generosity of Steve Rattner and Maureen White. This program ensures the health and beauty of Baxter Preserve for generations to come by caring for existing trees, removing those in decline and—most importantly—planting new native species to stand watch over the preserve for the next 50 years or more.
Planting a native tree is a meaningful way for individuals, families and organizations to honor someone special or memorialize a loved. Your $2,000 contribution covers the planting and perpetual care of your tree at Baxter Preserve.
You’ll be able to:
- Select from a list of native tree species.
- Work with our team to choose the perfect location.
- Create a virtual dedication on our website, where a short tribute accompanies your tree’s listing.
While name plaques are not permitted within the preserve, you will receive a beautifully printed Tree Dedication Certificate to commemorate your gift.
You can also support the program with a donation of any amount to help maintain the Baxter Preserve's existing trees and responsibly remove those in decline.
