Bloomerside Preserve
Trail Description
Bloomerside Preserve offers 2.6 miles of moderate trails through a diverse forest of large trees. The route includes some incline and passes a seasonal vernal pool, with opportunities to observe a variety of vegetation and wildlife along the way.
Bloomerside Preserve spans 74.5 acres across three adjoining parcels — Bloomerside, Bloomerside Extension, and the Gentile Preserve.
The first piece of this green haven, the Gentile Preserve, was donated in 1994 by Rosalina Gentile and sits across from Tompkins Memorial Track on June Road. In 2006, NSOLF acquired a 63-acre property on Bloomer Road, followed in 2007 by an adjacent 8.5-acre addition, now known as Bloomerside Extension.
Together, these connected lands form a vibrant Green Corridor — an unbroken stretch of protected habitat where wildlife can move safely and thrive. The preserve safeguards the scenic intersection of June and Bloomer Roads while offering a living outdoor classroom for nearby schools.
With well-marked trails winding beneath towering trees, Bloomerside Preserve is a peaceful escape for nature lovers seeking to explore the wild side of North Salem.

We are dedicated to preserving the character and natural beauty of the town of North Salem, NY and the area around it by establishing land areas free from exploitation, development, and deterioration and by maintaining the environmental and ecological integrity of the area.
